Formal parlor/sunroom

Coordinating colors helps rooms communicate with one another

We recommended the same “marble” color that we had rendered on the adjacent foyer walls to be painted on the ceiling and trim in this room. Although the picture doesn’t do it justice, a fine gradation of sheen on different trim pieces helps to articulate the architecture. The lively green wall color sets off the black onyx fireplace and terrazzo marble floor nicely. It is also consistent with the Art Deco tone of the Marx renovation.

We also restored the six (six-foot-wide!) double hung windows that look out onto Lake Michigan that sits just beyond the line of trees on this lakefront property.
